We are proud that a number of our artists past and present made it into NME’s round up of the best albums of the decade, including:
# 93
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
“They create a sound in thrall to beauty and romance and youth, like Catcher In The Rye: The Musical, or an everlasting evening smoking spicy cigarettes with friends in the park as the sunset seeps into the ether. As the songs weave into the fabric of each other, it daubs a visual listen that’s both pretty and pouty. CYHSY’s is a veritable swoon of a record.” - original NME review
# 91
Les Savy Fav - Let’s Stay Friends
“For a dozen years Harrington and his team-mates have toiled with the kind of incombustible DIY outlook that shelters in the rusting arches of a Transit van or cat-naps under the merch-stand. Through six years of articulate planning ‘Let’s Stay Friends’ – their forth outing – still arrives as a startling cannon-shot message of brain-thawing intent…LSF know they’re a revelation, a revolution even.” - original NME review
# 38
Bloc Party - Silent Alarm
“Bloc Party are to be believed in because they are a band for the whites, the blacks, the straights, the hip-hop kids, the freaks, the geeks, the emo kids, the punk-funkers, the queers and, yes, the fashionistas. Not because they are all these things (though they are a lot of them), nor because they’re all things to all men (in fact they’re the complete opposite). Back in 2002, Pete’n’Carl said it was‘Time For Heroes’. Well now it’s the anti-heroes’ time.” - original NME review
and Wichita alumni also made it onto the list:
# 56
My Morning Jacket – Z

# 32
Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Show Your Bones

# 31
Bright Eyes – I’m Wide Awake It’s Morning

Unfortunately Peter, Bjorn and John have had to cancel their upcoming UK tour due to family matters. Message from the band below:
Peter Bjorn And John are deeply and sincerely sorry
but we are unfortunately forced to cancel the upcoming
gigs in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Being our first longer UK-run in a couple of years it’s
a great shame but due to things out of our control concerning
family matters we simply can’t pursue the tour at the moment.
These things are a little to personal to go into here,
but we really do hope you all understand.
To those of you who have bought tickets and were
looking forward to the shows as much as we did,
we hope we can come back soon and make it up to you. Refunds will be
available from every promoter.
Once again we are truly sad and sorry about this
and just know we haven’t forgot you!
Yours truly
Peter Bjorn And John
